DRIEMO OUTSHINES MALAWI MUSIC INDUSTRY: BAGS OVERALL AWARD.

On 26th of November, 2022, Malawi Sound (MASO) Music Awards, a subsidiary of MASO enterprises, organised an auspicious event in a effort to appreciate the art industry in Malawi.

The event, which took place in the commercial city of Blantyre, saw a number of hard working artists bagging their awards in different categories including best male artist, best producer and best duo/group, among other categories.

Meanwhile, the Malawi’ current romantic music flag carrier, Driemo, scooped atleast two biggest awards, and thus, best artist of the year and video of the year, including his Manager Van Ngongo who scooped best manager of the year along side Driemo’ producer, Taktic, as the best producer. Suffix who also bagged two awards.

The awards are as follows: Best Visual Artist (Tingo Arts), best fashion (Roy View), best Photographer (JCK Media), best Comedian(Che Mandota), manager of the year (Van Ngongo), best Poet (Raphael Sitima), best Feature Film (The Last Fishing Boat), best graphics Designer (Spyral), best actor/actresses (Flora Suya), best female Upcoming artist (Kellie Devine Njuchi), best male Upcoming artist (Zonke too fresh), best Sound Engineer (John Thakomwa), best Duo/Group (Bee Jay and Ace Jizzy), best Producer (Tactic), best collaboration (Phyzix – Legend ft Various artists)

Meanwhile, song Of The Year
goes to Piksy (Anana), Dj of The Year (Joy Nathu), best Gospel Act (Suffix), best Gospel song of the Year
(Suffix – Mwandikondela)

Nailing it down to the floor, music Video of the year maso award has been bagged by Driemo (Mojo), best Live Act (Tay Grin), album Of the Year (Red Flag by Eli Njuchi), Female Artist Of the Year (Tuno) and the overall Male Artist Of the Year was bagged by the Ntchisi superstar, Driemo.

Media Personality Of the Year (Priscilla Kaira), video Director Of the Year (Viny Visuals), The Humanitarian Award (Kalim of K Motors), best Dance Group Of The Year (Fighters Dance Group)

MASO music awards is an annual event that is usually conducted at the end of every year and all artists in Malawi compete for their awards on a level ground.
