Aaron Phiri Junior is an artist with a voice that echoes the soul and passion that ignites the heart. The artist is quickly becoming a household name in the music industry. As a talented singer and songwriter, he has been making waves with his unique gospel sound and inspiring personal stories.

The Lilongwe-based icon who hails from Nguludi in Chiradzulu was born in Mzuzu . He did his primary education in Karonga and Rumphi and attended secondary school in Lilongwe. Aaron started memorizing songs when he was about 10 years old and would often go behind bottle stores just to listen to songs by Mlaka Maliro, Senzo, Jose Chameleon, Joseph Mkasa, and others. Aaron had a small radio that he would carry to the farm with his mom and brothers, as he lost his father when he was just 5 years old. In fact, he was known to entertain his mother and brothers at the farm until it was time to knock off.

For years now, he has been eager to write and record his own songs. His friends at school used to call him Aaron Phiri Jr., and he kept the name as a memorable aspect for his fans. Phiri says that his passion and love for music drive him to spread the word of God through his art.

Afrobeat, Reggae, Amapiano, and other traditional fusions are the genres that Aaron feels most comfortable with.

Aaron draws inspiration from the late Wambali Mkandawire, a multitasking artist, as well as Lulu, Norman Phiri, Lawi, and Skeffa Chimoto. He often generates song concepts during church services and while chilling with friends.

The artist has been seen pushing the boundaries of what people expect in the music fraternity. He always ensures that his songs carry a meaningful message, even as he experiments with different genres like Amapiano. His upcoming song titled Musadabwe, is set to be released soon, with his Chisomo album expected later towards the end of the year.

Aaron’s short-term goal is to finalize his Chisomo album, but in the future, he wants to establish himself as one of the artists that the younger generation can look up to. He also dreams of having his own live band, a record label, and helping upcoming artists. Aaron hopes to collaborate with other artists like Gentle K, who is also an upcoming artist from Lumbadzi, as well as other surprises for his fans.

He says he would love to have a well-equipped band and studio that will enable him to win more souls and establish himself at an international level. Considering the positive feedback from his fans, he sees himself going far in the music industry.

Phiri promotes his songs through social media, uploading his music to various platforms so that his fans can stream and download his work wherever they are. As an artist, Phiri receives both negative and positive feedback, and he uses it to improve his craft. “Giving people good and mature music, along with maintaining proper communication with fans, helps to build a strong relationship with them,” he said.

Someone once advised Aaron that the best time to utilize in life is the present because time is precious—once lost, it can never be recovered.

Among all the songs Aaron has released, Chisomo is the track closest to his heart. It is available for download on various platforms. The song speaks of how God, through His mercies and grace, continues to favor us despite the problems and global crises surrounding us.

His latest release “Musadabwe” serves as an encouragement to his fellow youth and others going through tough times, reminding them that God still remembers them and that he is a just and faithful God.
