Wyson Laifo better known for his stage name WalyCris is Blantyre based artist born and raised a Muslim in a family of four children. He claims that the love of arts iand entertainment inspired him to be a musician he is today. He grew up listening to hiphop from the likes of Dare Devilz and is still a biggest fan of Marcus.

Even in the hardest time in the music industry when it is flooded with lots of artists, the star is able to outshine everyone.

WalyCris started doing serious music in 2016. During that time he participated in the “Dolo Wa Mu Hood” rap competition hosted by Mr P but came second. This made him to take his music seriously and improve his rap skills.

The year 2019 was a breakthrough for WalyCris as he embarked on doing a number collaborations which helped to grow his name. He did collaborations with artists like Bucci, Guntola, Waxy K and K Banton.

In 2019 he dropped an EP tittled “Section 1997” which had songs like _Pa Corner_ , _Munthu_, _Ulere Ulere_ and _Maria_ and featured artists like Guntola, Waxy K and K Banton. In the same year he won as the Artist Of The Year in the Machinjiri Music Awards.

His recent EP project “Dziko ” has also received a warm welcome in the industry and it features artists like Flaba, Ababa Surgent, K Banton and Guntola.

He has shared stage with artists like Macelba, Saint, Rina and Zathu band and worked with producers like Sispence, Jay Emm , Juxy and many others.

Apart from music, academically WalyCris is doing motor vehicle mechanics
